Charleston Bridge Orientation

Congratulations on your decision to participate in Charleston Bridge. A one-day orientation has been designed to help you successfully transition into college life and prepare for the academic challenge that awaits you. Orientation is mandatory for Charleston Bridge students and will be held on July 20, 2018. Charleston Bridge Orientation is unique and students accepted to the bridge program may only attend the orientation scheduled for July 20, 2018. Family members are welcome but are not required to attend the orientation. The orientation program is free to students and family members. During orientation, you will hear about the program requirements and information about the resources available from Trident Technical College and the College of Charleston.

Students register for the Charleston Bridge orientation in MyCharleston. Once the tuition deposit is paid to College of Charleston, students will receive an email sent to your personal and College of Charleston email account with instructions about how to register for the Charleston Bridge orientation using the Charleston Bridge channel found in MyCharleston on the academic services tab.  The deadline to register for the July 20th orientation is June 1, 2018. Students may also indicate on the registration form how many family members will be attending the orientation.

During the day on the Trident Technical College campus (morning) and College of Charleston campus (afternoon) students will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet other students in the Charleston Bridge program.
  • Hear from Trident Technical College administrators about academic requirements, financial aid, billing, buying books, disability services, using TTC EXPRESS, and IT support.
  • Review the Trident Technical College classes and finalize your fall course schedule. Trident Technical College will enroll students in their fall courses before orientation. Placement testing is not required for fall course registration.
  • Enjoy a free lunch for in the Liberty Fresh Food Company at the College of Charleston.
  • Learn more about the Charleston Bridge program requirements, fall activities, and sign the program participation agreement.
  • Hear about student and academic support services available at College of Charleston.
  • Find out how to get involved in student life at the College of Charleston.
  • Meet your student success seminar instructor and get details about the seminar requirements.
  • Learn more about the four residence halls that are housing options for Charleston Bridge students (Berry, Buist, Craig, or Liberty residence hall) and hear details about the August move-in process.

Orientation check-in information and a tentative schedule will be posted on this website in June.
