New Student Orientation Housing

The College of Charleston Campus Housing office offers housing for summer orientation sessions one through eight (June and July sessions) only for students. It is not required for students to stay on campus during orientation. Housing does not offer on campus housing for summer orientation sessions 9 and 10 (August sessions) or the January orientation session since many students have already moved into their assigned residence hall rooms.

The online reservations (click on the link to reserve a bed) are handled through the Campus Housing office.  NOTE: The online summer orientation housing reservation form will be available in April.

General Information

All reservations must be made at least two weeks before your scheduled orientation. Space is very limited and reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, so please reserve your spot as early as possible after you log on to check your orientation confirmation.

Anyone who stays in a residence hall will be expected to abide by all College of Charleston rules and regulations. No smoking and no alcoholic beverages or drugs are allowed. All orientation participants are subject to the code of conduct found in the Student Handbook as well as in the Guide to Residence Life ( If you do not follow the rules, you will be subject to disciplinary action that could affect your status as a student for the upcoming semester.

Note: Bring linens for an extra-long single bed, a pillow, blanket, towels and toiletries, and shower shoes because the College does not provide these items.  You may check in the night before your first day of orientation and must check out no later than 5:00 p.m. on the second day of orientation. You may be charged a late fee if you check out after 5:00 p.m.

If you have any questions about on-campus housing during the summer, contact the Campus Housing office at or 843.953.2015.

Note: On-campus housing is available only for students attending the June and July orientation sessions only. On-campus housing is not available during the August sessions or the January session. Students attending those sessions will be able to move into their assigned school year housing.
